Thirsty Thursday - Lavender

Oh my goodness, Lavender! Lavender is one of those oils I could never live without. Lavender has so many amazing uses, from being a sleep aid to helping alleviate allergies to helping skin become moisturized. It can be used for bee stings, insect bites, minor burns, and so many more!

I, myself, have used it in so many capacities. I use it in my night time linen spray every night. I use it in my allergy blend which I cannot live without. I use it neat on my skin when I have minor cuts or my dermatitis flares up. I never realized that this is the oil I grab the most!

At ScentSational Gypsies, we use lavender in most of our products. Our bath bombs, foot soaks, and bubbling bath salts all come in lavender. We use lavender in our Bath Bombs, Foot Soaks, and Bubbling Bath Salts because it is good for dry or chapped skin and helps with relaxation. We use is in our Romantic Flower Garden Sugar Scrub because it helps with itchy skin and alleviates some types of eczema. We even put it in our Fountain of Youth wrinkle serum because it helps reduce the signs of aging, combat wrinkles, and even out skin tone. We use lavender in our aftershave, toner (ask us about having a party to have the opportunity to purchase this item), cuticle oil, bug spray, and many products to come.

Testimonial Tuesday: Sleeping Beauty Sleep Spray

Sleeping Beauty

As anyone who knows me, knows that I adore my children.  They are the light of my life.  I’m not going to lie, it has been extremely difficult at times.  Take for instance, my daughter.  She is the most caring and kind person I know.  Her huge heart reaches out and absorbs all the energies around her, turning her into this energetic, funny, loveable cherub.  With all this personality, there are a few downsides.  The main downside is the fact that she can’t sleep.  I don’t mean, toss and turn but eventually wears out and gets her rest.  NOPE.  She is six years old and we still have many nights where she needs me.  How do we cope with this?  Well let me tell you my secret.  

My daughter is addicted to lavender.  She will not lay her head down for bed without the comforting spray of our Sleeping Beauty Linen Spray.  After we spray down her pillows, it’s natural for her to want to lay and unwind.  We start by reading stories together and end it by talking about our future plans.  It is the most pleasant way to spend the end of the day.  

I have a second secret.  I typically fall asleep with her.  Yes, the spray is that good.  I won’t even be tired, and BAM!  I’m out cold.  

Motivational Monday- positive vibes

It is always amazing what you will accomplish if you keep your mind thinking in the positive direction.  There has been countless books written and speakers talking about this subject alone, so I'm not bore you with a long post.  I have only one challenge for you today.

When something bad happens today, think of one good thing that came from it.  It is much easier than you can believe if you get into the habit of finding the good.

Spotlight Saturday- Speedway Market in the Park

You need to come and see Scentsational Gypsies tomorrow at Meadowood Park in Speedway.  The market is from 12-4 p.m.  There will be plenty of vendors and a park for your little ones to play!

Funny Friday- Mary Catherine Gallagher

You should see us when we are making your products!  Complete hilarity!!  Not only are we making huge messes, but we are constantly sniffing and rubbing the spill overs on our arms.  I even ran out of non-oiled skin and had to rub down my son's arms!   I guess next time we need to snap these moments. Just a little tip, if you are getting nose blind to the smells, you can always sniff coffee to clear out the sinuses.  You will find small containers of coffee around our tables for just this reason!
