Thirsty Thursday - Coconut Oil Part 3

Yes, this is me! Too much coconut oil on my hands? I wipe it in my hair, arms, or my legs!

The last two weeks we have given you some great information on coconut oil and some of our amazing products that contain this fantastic oil. Body Butter

Candy Store Body Butter contains  coconut oil, vitamin E, orange, spearmint, and cassia essential oils.  This combination will help soothe your skin while helping combat the signs of aging.  Not to be used while pregnant or nursing.

• Coconut Oil soothes dryness, deep conditioner, removes impurities, naturally antibacterial and antifungal.
• Vitamin E reduces the signs of scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles.  
• Orange is good for fluid retention, stress, and tension.
• Spearmint essential oil helps treat fatigue, headaches, and nervousness.  
• Cassia essential oil is a great stimulant.  It creates a great blood flow to the skin helping decrease the signs of varicose veins.

Baby Powder Body Butter contains coconut oil, vitamin E, Young Living’s Purification essential oil, Barefut’s Happiness essential oil, and Lime essential oil. This body butter is good for an uplifting and romantic mood.  

• Coconut Oil soothes dryness, deep conditioner, removes impurities, naturally antibacterial and antifungal.
• Vitamin E reduces the signs of scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
• Purification has been known to help with clearing sinuses, treating acne, and smelling great. Purification is made up of Citronella oil, Rosemary oil, Lemongrass oil,Tea tree oil, Lavandin oil, and Myrtle oil
• Happiness is an uplifting oil that adds a softness that is reminiscent of baby powder. Happiness is made from Bergamot, Geranium, Lime, Tangerine, and Ylang-Ylang.
• Lime essential oil is good for acne, cellulite, and increases circulation.

Citrus Explosion Body Butter contains coconut oil, vitamin E, lemon, lime, grapefruit, and orange essential oils.  This is a great morning pick me up moisturizer.  Please be careful of your sun exposure due to the sun effects on citrus oils.

• Vitamin E reduces the signs of scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
• Lemon essential oil cleanses and purifies the skin while providing nourishment and moisture.

• Grapefruit essential oil is good for removing impurities, stimulating the immune system, helping reduce the signs of cellulite, and decreases depression.  
• Orange is good for fluid retention, stress, and tension.

Toothpaste

This product is amazing for cleaning and whitening your teeth. The baking soda will clean and help whiten your teeth. Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and will assist in the cleansing of your teeth Thieves essential oil is great at boosting your immune system and Orange Essential Oil will help whiten your teeth. Ingredients include: baking soda, water, coconut oil, Thieves Essential Oil, Orange Essential Oil

Lip Scrub

Are your lips peeling from dehydration or over exposure to the sun?  We have the perfect product for you.  Our signature lip scrub will not only rub those unwanted skin pieces, but taste fantastic.  This scrub is made with sugar, coconut oil, and essential oils. Just dip your finger into the jar.  Put a little portion on your finger tip and rub on the area you need the skin removed.  You may lick your lips when you are done for a sweet finish. Give Back Tuesday: Acts of Faith

As some of you know, Scentsational Gypsies attended the 9th Annual Act of Faith Car Show and Vendor Sale on Saturday, June 25th.  We had a great time getting to know people and talking about our products.

Our booth at 9th Annual Act of Faith Vendor Sale

This event was special because of the mission behind the sale.  We were raising money for Act of Faith, a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to those with serious or terminal illnesses while waiting on government aid.   This particular venue was raising money for those diagnosed with cancer.  People could buy raffle tickets for door prizes, 50/50 splits, and vendor products  There was also a silent auction for donated items from the vendors. All the money went to the organization.

The car show showcased many different vehicles, all ready to win the prize of Best in Show and People's Choice.  They were displayed proudly in the parking lot for all to see.

It may have been a hot day out, but we were able to raise some money to help those families in need! 

To keep the spirit of giving going.  During the month of July, Scentsational Gypsies would like to donate 20% of our proceeds from the Bubbling Bath Salts will go toward this organization.  We offer 4 different sizes 24 oz, 16 oz, 4 oz, and sample size in our Mystic scents of Lavender, Grapefruit, and Invigorate.

Motivational Monday- Thank yourself

I took that leap three years ago and bought my first oil kit.  I am so thankful for making that jump.  Not only is my family healthier, but I know that I am keeping them safe from unneeded, unwanted chemicals.

You, too, can take that leap.  Scentsational Gypsies is here to help you.  All our products are all natural and chemical free.  We tried to take all the guess work out of the leap.  Everything we have has been tried and worked for our families. One year ago, I thought that essential oils were just something those crazy DIY people had and it was just a phase. All of that changed the instant I bought my first kit of oils and a friend showed me how miraculous they really are. I started out using just a few here and there, thinking this must be a fluke, right?!? NOPE! These oils have completely changed everything. Headaches? I’ve got oils for that. Cramps? Those too! Allergies? You bet! Hangovers? Yes, even that! I now have a whole regimen during my day for oils.

This meme, I giggle each time I see it  just because of the absolute truth of it!

Thirsty Thursday- Coconut Oil pt 2

I told you all that we would be focusing on coconut oil this month.  As I told you in Thirsty Thursdays- Coconut Oil pt 1, we have several products that contain coconut oil.  Not only does coconut oil have a fantastic smell, but we use it for it's health benefits.  Read on to find out more about these wonderful products as well as all their benefits.

Bath Bombs and Foot Soaks

We have three different types of Bath Bombs and Foot Soaks here at Scentsational Gypsies Grapefruit, Lavender, and Invigorating.  These bath bombs are the best solution for a stressful day.  All you need is a tub and water.  When you apply these to the water, you will notice fizzing. This fizz feels therapeutic and relaxing. After the soak is complete, your skin will feel the softest it’s ever felt. The Bath Bombs and Foot Soaks are made with Citric Acid, Baking Soda, Cornstarch, Coconut oil, and essential oils.

• Citric Acid treats uneven skin tones, unclogs pores, helps with acne, and helps reduce the signs of wrinkles.

• Baking Soda is a great defoliator, pulls toxins from the skin, helps with sunburns, cures acne, treats nail fungus, and soothes shaved skin.

Bubbling Bath Salts

Mystic Sugar Scrubs

We have three different Mystic Scents here at Scentsational Gypsies. All of them contain sugar, Castile Soap, and coconut oil. Let me tell you a little about each of them.

Sugar Cookie Sugar Scrub contains sugar, Castile Soap, and coconut oil, lemongrass, cassia, and clove  essential oils.  This sugar scrub is a great astringent, deodorant, toner, stimulates the circulation, and brightens your skin.  

• Sugar draws moisture from the environment into the skin, encourages cell turnover and generating fresher, younger-looking skin, and makes an excellent topical exfoliator.
• Castile Soap helps remove acne, smooth the skin, and even out color.
• Coconut Oil soothes dryness, deep conditioner, removes impurities, naturally antibacterial and antifungal.

• Lemongrass essential oil is a great astringent and deodorizes the skin leaving it feel clean.
• Cassia essential oil is a great stimulant.  It creates a great blood flow to the skin helping decrease the signs of varicose veins
• Clove essential oil is good for brightening your skin and making it look younger.  

• Avoid/limit if you are pregnant and or nursing.  Cassia has been known to dry up milk supply.

Romantic Flower Garden Sugar Scrub contains sugar, Castile Soap, and coconut oil, lavender, orange, patchouli, cedarwood, and bergamot essential oils.  This sugar scrub is a great for calming effect, relaxation, anxiety relief, and mediation.  This is a great night time scrub.

•  Patchouli is good for acne, reducing the signs of aging, fluid retention, and anxiety.
•  Cedarwood is good for anxiety, stress, and tension.
• Bergamot is good for anxiety, depression, and stress.

• Contains cedarwood, which is to be avoided during pregnancy.

Refreshingly Sinful Sugar Scrub contains sugar, Castile Soap, and coconut oil, grapefruit and lime essential oils.  This sugar scrub is good for removing impurities, stimulating the immune system, helping reduce the signs of cellulite, and decreases depression.  It’s uplifting scent makes it a great morning time scrub.  Limit sun exposure due to the sun effect on citrus.  oils

Testimony Tuesday - Bug b-gone edition

I took my students on a field trip to Eagle Creek State Park for hiking and outdoor fun. As you know, hiking = bugs, and I hate, no, loathe bugs. So, I took our Bug B’Gone spray with me. I started spraying myself all over and then rubbing it into my skin. The only bug that bothered me that day was the one gnat that tried to go in my ear as I was taking the cap off of the bottle! My students, on the other hand, ended up with multiple bug bites.

ScentSational Gypsies has found a perfect blend with Citronella, Lavender, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Tea tree, Lavandin, and Myrtle oils. We mix these oils with Witch Hazel to allow the oils to spray onto your skin. These oils help repel insects and the aroma is mesmerizing.

Sunday News- Meet the Co-Owner pt. 2

My name is Samantha. I am the co-founder/co-creator of ScentSational Gypsies. I have been a teacher for 7 years, first, second, and fifth grade. There was a time I would never have said that 5th grade is where I belong but here I am! I have been married to my husband for almost 4 glorious (most of the time) years. We have a four legged furry child named Tucker. He is the sweetest, smartest dog I have ever seen! I have always been a lover of music, books, and crafty items. My playlist varies depending on my mood. At any moment I can be listening to just about anything. I can go from Pearl Jam to Garth Brooks to Halestorm and anything in between. My novel list is not nearly as varying. I tend to stick to romance novels, unless I am reading for my 5th graders...then it is all about what a 5th grader can relate to. Wonder anyone??? My craftyness can go on and on for days. Painting, scrapbooking, art journaling, creating my own home decor and anything else that suits my fancy!

People always ask, "Why are you a teacher?" The short answer, I failed my original major. You can’t really be a Marine Biologist without passing Biology! But after some thought and deep conversation I decided that being with children and helping them in any way was my destiny. Now I look at it as a way to change something about our future. If I can get just one student to become their best person, then I have done my job. My kids inspire me to be better than I am. I have always wanted to find a way to help them when it comes to being healthy, which is why I became a coach for our school Fit Club. This has also inspired me to be find ways to use my oils for my kids. I think about how they could use them and how the oils could help them one day.

I began my oily journey in July of 2015. I was so tired of having allergies and I was ready to go to a doctor for just about anything! A friend of mine had been selling oils and I finally decided to try it. It had to be cheaper than getting an allergy test and getting whatever medications they would prescribe. So, she showed me how to mix up an allergy blend and it changed my life. I just roll on the Allergy Resistance 3.0 and BOOM within 20 minutes the crazy, itchy eyes and sneezy feelings are gone. The first time I thought it was a fluke...but I tried again and I ended up with the same results! I never thought this would be the case. But here we are almost a year later and I still use the Allergy Resistance 3.0!

ScentSational Gypsies came around when the other co-founder/co-creator came to me and said "Let's do this!" I have never been one to jump in quite like this but after all of the amazing things that I have learned about essential oils, I had no other choice. Head first, All in. I love the products we make, the benefits they bring to my life, and the ability to help others with the use of natural remedies. I have completely fallen in love with our sugar scrubs! The fact that I can exfoliate and wash at the same time is AMAZING! The scent is unbelievable and the benefits of the oils in the Sugar Cookie Sugar Scrub, especially the increased blood flow from the Cassia, is exactly what I have been looking for.

Oh yes, that's us!  We are so excited to reveal a new product for our pop up market in Plainfield, IN tomorrow.  We love love our Signature Bath Bombs in the scents of Invigorating, Grapefruit, and Lavender.  Which makes us proud to introduce our Bubbling Bath Salts in the same great scents.  These have the same great fizz as the Bath bombs but the added benefit of detoxing.  

They will come in three different sizes.  There are three different sizes.   The large size is 24 oz and roughly 9 baths.  The medium is 16 oz and roughly 6 baths.  The small size is a good size for a manicure or pedicure equaling 3 tablespoons.
