A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place
My students need storage solutions for our ceramic room. We are in desperate need to get supplies off the FLOOR!
My Students
My students are in an inner city neighborhood We are one of seven targeted neighborhoods for high poverty, high crime high drugs and high mental disease, in this large city in Indiana. My students are often overlooked when it comes to funding, but they are very creative, and eager to learn despite the often troubled homes they come from.
My students love art and often the art room is one of the few places they feel successful.
My students need the self esteem and success that art can provide.
My Project
We are fortunate to have a separate room for our clay and kiln, but there are no shelves. I have used milk crate cartons to put kiln furniture and glazes but the have bent from the weight and my tools go on the floor, sometimes in pieces. Most of the supplies are all over the floor.
I service over 400 students in the art room and organization is a crucial element for a successful program.
Please help us with these new storage shelves for our tools, glazes, molds and ceramic materials. We need to get our materials off the floor!.
